Role
To design and execute innovative, engaging digital projects, mainly focusing on social content, brand design, video design, basic animation, and web development using WordPress (with Elementor). You will be responsible for all creative aspects of client deliverables. You would be working alongside a copywriter, collaborating with client service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure all graphic elements are completed on time and error-free for presentations.
- Manage, find and organize file structures and directories of assets such as product images, logos, and so on.
- Work well with typesetting and page layouts for web or documents – from formatting style and how text can be either ugly or well set.
- Pick up other design projects and continue them, strengthen them, fix issues or hone their intended strengths. ‘How will this idea work in the long run?’
- Knowledge of design best practices such as maintaining clean vector files, optimized filesizes, embedded or linked files, variable fonts, and so on.
- Come up with creative solutions for social media content, video design, animation, and web design, using Elementor in WordPress.
- Work confidently with Adobe Creative Suite, including tools for video design and basic animation.
- Bring creative ideas to life across different mediums, ensuring consistency within each brand, project and over time.
- Create campaign materials based on briefs from different departments within the business.
- Work closely with the Client Services and Creative Teams to generate ideas that meet brand goals.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and design software, especially for social media and web design.
- Maintain brand consistency across all designs and media. Notice patterns and continue them, or find inconsistencies and fix them.
- Document work where needed, have reasoning available for creative decisions and keep track of time and deadlines with our task platform.
Key Competencies:
- A degree or diploma in Graphic Design / Visual Design.
- Proficiency in social content, brand, video, and basic animation design.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions independently and collaboratively.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in graphic design, with a strong focus on social content and video/animation creation. Knowledge of typesetting and appealing layout is useful.
- Experience in the digital and multimedia industry is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for design quality, cultural relevance and effective communication.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
- Able to problem solve unexpected technical roadblocks – find, manipulate, convert or clean up file formats or structures.
- WordPress experience is preferred, particularly with Elementor.
- An understanding of the latest trends in design and technology. A sense of opinionated curiosity, and the ability to balance quality, time and attention. Judgement of when and what is important and what is not.
- Confidence to ask for help or raise a red flag, if you sense future design struggles.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands effectively.
- Basic knowledge of HTML is advantageous.
