Senior Account Manager


Your primary function is to grow and maintain healthy client relationships with the Agency’s clients, as well as build effective working relationships with the production team and your peers.

You pride yourself on your ability to form relationships with people quickly and with ease. Your warm and outgoing personality is infectious and you strive to constantly out-service your clients. Nothing is more important than gaining your client’s trust and your internal drive to succeed ensures that you do this as quickly as possible. You can juggle a million balls at once and are not afraid of being involved in strategic conversations or having a full day of admin. Your attention to detail is impeccable. You are passionate about Marketing and digital in particular. You have a solid understanding of the digital environment, the technologies that make it work and its capabilities, and are energised by the ever-changing digital landscape.


  • Build and grow long-lasting client relationships with the Agency clients assigned to the role.
  • Constantly strive to out-service the clients and provide value to them with every interaction.
  • Perform the role of the key contact person for the client, bringing in your relevant AD, BUD or the CSD for support when necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver on the client’s business plans and implement them accordingly with the team.
  • Manage the retention of existing clients by delivering consistently high standards.
  • Manage the health of the client’s business within the Agency.
  • Deliver bottom-line client profitability and grow the client’s business within the Agency.
  • Ensure that client briefing sessions are productive & of value constantly offering insights, best practices and recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain productive communication between the client and the Agency.
  • Produce weekly status reports to clients indicating the status of all jobs, whether project or retainer.
  • Invest in growing your knowledge of the client’s business and the industries in which they operate, actively tracking competitors and finding other information that will be of value to the team and the clients. This is not limited to digital but can include all other forms of marketing.
  • Ensure that at all times the Agency’s actions are in line with SLA’s, processes, procedures, budgets and work ethic.
  • Ensure that all CE’s and billings are done accurately and timeously.
  • Present proposals and be comfortable discussing costs with clients.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team, showing restraint and respect.
  • Be proactive regarding possible crises and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Play a support role to the AD or CSD by assisting with any ad-hoc requests that may arise.
  • Demonstrate behaviour that is aligned to the vision, values and policies and procedures of the Agency.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 – 4 years of advertising agency experience in an account management role.
  • A solid understanding of digital strategy with experience in social media, website and app development, media advertising, SEO, and digital research.
  • A 3-year tertiary qualification preferably in marketing, advertising, communications, media or business.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
  • Experience within the financial services industry will be an added advantage.
