Objectives

Digitlab was tasked with developing the brand and creating a branding identity and collateral for MyResorts. 

Solution

Our journey with My Resorts began in a room filled with ideas, where product design and brand workshops laid the foundation for something truly special. We gathered around the table with our client, exploring every facet of the platform’s purpose and identity. These workshops weren’t just about defining a brand; they were about unearthing the soul of what My Resorts could offer—a seamless bridge between dream holidays and reality.

As we delved deeper into the brand’s essence, we entered a research and experimentation phase, eager to bring this vision to life. We asked ourselves, what makes a holiday truly unforgettable? The answer came not just from logic but from an emotional connection.

We began experimenting with materials and textures, immersing ourselves in the sensations that define a holiday—the sun’s warmth on your skin, the cool touch of water, and the grounding feel of stone beneath your feet. These elements, we realised, were more than just physical; they were the keys to unlocking the emotional experience of a getaway. 

Inspiration

Inspired by this discovery, we turned to the world of art for guidance. With their bold, playful forms, Henri Matisse’s cutouts spoke to the creativity and freedom we wanted to infuse into the My Resorts brand. Matisse’s work wasn’t just about colour and shape; it was about expression, a way to communicate joy and adventure through the simplest means. We embraced this artistic influence, letting it guide us as we crafted a visual language that was rustic yet refined, dynamic yet grounded. 

  In this creative exploration, the brand began to take shape—not just as a booking platform but as a doorway to experiences that resonate deeply with the senses. We wove together the tactile pleasures of a holiday with the ease and accessibility of online booking, ensuring that every element of the brand reflects the joy, relaxation, and adventure My Resorts promises. 

More than Design 

This process was more than just design; it was a story of discovery. Every step, from the initial workshops to the final visual identity, was about finding the perfect balance between practicality and inspiration. The result is a brand that simplifies the booking process and invites holidaymakers to step into a world where every moment is filled with possibility, connection, and the pure joy of living. My Resorts became a platform that doesn’t just offer holidays; it provides the keys to creating memories that last a lifetime. 

Branding Basics 

 As we begin to unpack the branding elements of My Resorts, we dive into a world where every detail tells a story of adventure and discovery.  

The logo draws inspiration from the essence of travel—imagine the nostalgic charm of stamps, the winding paths of journeys taken, and the excitement of suitcases filled to the brim. The spiralling letterforms in the logo tilt your head as you read as if the letters themselves are embarking on their adventure, embodying the playful spirit of exploration that defines the My Resorts experience. The rectangular form of the logo is versatile, designed to be broken down and rearranged, offering flexibility that mirrors the adaptability of our brand. 

Pattern design, icons and meanings 

Our branding takes shape with a fresh, clean, and marine-inspired colour palette, evoking the tranquillity and vibrancy of seaside escapes. The roughened edges and organic textures add a finishing touch that feels as authentic and grounded as the holiday experiences we offer. 

The sun, a central element in our logo mark, shines brightly within a small collection of icons, each representing the diverse activities within the My Resorts family—whether it’s a corporate retreat, a hiking adventure, or a wedding celebration. This iconographic style, influenced by Matisse’s gouache paper cutouts, fits seamlessly into a larger pattern that celebrates creativity and expression. 

Application 

Brand Guide 

Creating a brand guide is pivotal in defining and codifying the essence of My Resorts. It goes beyond merely avoiding design missteps; it is a source of inspiration and a roadmap for the brand’s future growth.  

 As we develop the brand guide, we also mock up and test various elements—such as a web page—to evaluate our aesthetic choices critically.

Are the colours vibrant yet balanced?  

Do the typefaces maintain legibility while establishing a clear hierarchy?  

Do the icons, images, and text work harmoniously, creating a cohesive and engaging experience?  

 These are the questions we explore to ensure every detail is just right. 

Branding Collateral 

Our branding collateral extends the story of My Resorts into the physical world, starting with business cards and email signatures. These elements offer a tangible opportunity to express the brand’s personality. For a holiday-centric brand, we drew inspiration from the nostalgic feel of holiday photo snaps and instant film cameras—small details that tie the brand to cherished memories of the perfect getaway. 

We also provided branded templates for letterheads, documents, and a complete social media mearketing kit, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the My Resorts identity. Creating a brand guide and an organised asset kit marks an exciting milestone in our journey. Nothing is more motivating than seeing an idea come to life, taking shape in a visually compelling way and true to the brand’s core values. 

Each element, from the logo to the collateral, is a step toward making My Resorts a booking platform and a beloved and recognisable brand that resonates with holidaymakers everywhere.
