Role Overview

Automation Specialist – Marketing & Sales Automation

You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and optimising marketing and sales automation that actually supports how businesses operate. The role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution across CRM, data, and automation, while actively supporting clients — helping them understand, adopt, and get real value from the systems in place. The focus is on improving lead handling, visibility, and revenue outcomes, not just shipping workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Sales Automation
• Build and manage automation workflows across marketing, sales, and service lifecycles
• Implement lead stages, MQL/SQL logic, and deal pipelines
• Automate task creation, lead routing, notifications, and follow-ups
• Ensure automation drives action and accountability, not noise

CRM & Data
• Implement and optimise HubSpot CRM environments
• Create and manage custom properties, lifecycle stages, and data structures
• Maintain clean, reliable first-party data
• Ensure forms, websites, ads, and tools feed correctly into the CRM

Integrations & Tracking
• Connect HubSpot with tools like Mailchimp, Gravity Forms, Elementor, Meta, Google Ads, and Zapier
• Support conversion tracking and feedback loops between ad platforms and CRM
• Assist with server-side and form-level tracking where required

Collaboration & Delivery
• Translate business requirements into practical automation solutions
• Work closely with strategy and client service teams
• Document automations clearly for internal teams and clients
• Support ongoing optimisation and troubleshooting

Experience and Skills

Essential
• Strong hands-on experience with HubSpot (CRM, Marketing, Sales)
• Proven ability to design end-to-end automation, not just isolated workflows
• Solid understanding of lead management, pipelines, and revenue stages
• Comfortable working with data logic, conditions, and workflows
• Able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Advantageous
• HubSpot certifications
• MailChimp Experience
• Familiarity with Meta CAPI, Google Tag Manager, or server-side tracking
• Experience working across multiple clients or in a consultancy environment

Tools

You’ll work hands-on with a modern marketing and sales tech stack, including:

  • HubSpot – CRM, Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, workflows, pipelines, reporting
  • Web & Forms – WordPress, Elementor, Gravity Forms
  • Email & Comms – HubSpot Email, Mailchimp
  • Advertising Platforms – Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google Ads
  • Tracking & Data – Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking, basic server-side concepts
  • Documentation & Collaboration – internal knowledge bases, shared documentation, and client-facing guides
  • Data Cleaning – Excel, ChatGPT
